As President of Keene & Dorchak, Mr. Keene formulates and oversees investment strategy for the firm. He also manages those client portfolios invested in individual securities. Mr. Keene brings to the firm over 35 years of experience in the field of investments, including time spent as a securities analyst. Prior to founding Keene & Dorchak, he served as Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager for Banc One Investment Advisors, Fort Worth Region. During his career, Mr. Keene has managed both personal and institutional portfolios. He is a CFA charterholder, member of the CFA Society of Dallas-Fort Worth, and member of the CFA Institute. Mr. Keene graduated from the University of Texas in 1978 with a BA in Psychology. He earned an MBA with a concentration in finance in 1982 from the University of Texas at Austin.
Mr. Dorchak joined the firm in 2012. In addition to portfolio management, he performs analytical research involved in the selection of securities for client portfolios. Mr. Dorchak's responsibilities also include the maintenance of client accounts, monitoring client transactions and activity, report preparation, marketing, and trading. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Dorchak worked for an investment advisory firm. He also has extensive work history as an auditor, with a concentration in the financial services sector. He holds a BBA in accounting from Texas Tech University in Lubbock (2007).
Mr. Jahnke serves as an outside research consultant to the firm. His responsibility is to assist in securities research and portfolio strategy. Mr. Jahnke was most recently a Director of the Prudent Bear Funds, a $2 billion mutual fund complex at the time he left the firm, as well as the Director of Research for Behind The Numbers, an institutional research organization. He started his career as an analyst for InterFirst Bank, Dallas in 1984. From 1987 to 1991, he was President of JKE Equity Research, an equity research firm located in Fort Worth, Texas. Mr. Jahnke has nearly four decades of experience in the financial services industry. He has published in the Journal of Portfolio Management as well as Barron’s magazine. He is a CFA charterholder and holds an MBA from Texas Christian University.
Mr. Klaffke also serves as an outside research consultant to the firm. He assists in securities research and portfolio strategy for the firm. He was most recently Executive Director of USAA Investment Management Company in San Antonio, where he co-managed the $2.5 billion USAA Income Stock Fund. From 1987 to 1992, Mr. Klaffke was co-founder (with Mr. Jahnke) of JKE Equity Research. In 1993 he began working as a securities analyst at USAA Investment Management Company, eventually becoming the manager of the USAA Income Stock Fund. In 2003 he co-founded ARX Capital Management, a boutique investment advisory firm. Mr. Klaffke is currently Vice Chairman – University Health System Board of Pension Trustees. He is a CFA charterholder and holds an MBA from Texas Christian University.
Mrs. Jensen joined the firm in 2014 and is responsible for assisting in the firm’s day-to-day operations. She provides office support, oversees account maintenance and reconciliation, and generates company and client reports. Mrs. Jensen has previous experience in banking, public accounting, and corporate accounting. She graduated from Colorado State University in 2000 with a BBA in accounting.
